Chakrata - A Magical Hill Station

The Chakrata is Embellished by the sun-kissed Himalayan ranges, the beauteous hill station of Chakrata is seated at an elevation of 2,118 metres above sea level. This secluded hilly town is cradled in the Dehradun district and is an ideal weekend getaway for the backpackers.
It is only 90 kms from Dehradun, the capital city of Uttarakhand.

Places to See in Chakrata

Chilmiri Top
Chilmiri Neck or Chilmiri Top is about 5 km away from our guest house and 3 km from the main market of Chakrata. This top is famous for sunrise and Sunset point. From here you can enjoy the beauty of Himalay peaks. The main thing about Chakrata is that it is a less crowded place with untouched beauty.



Tiger Falls
Tiger fall is 20 Km. away from our guest house. it's called a tiger fall because its sound like the tiger.
Tiger Falls is a major tourist attraction located near cantonment town Chakrata. Visitors can enjoy a rejuvenating bath below the 50 mtrs waterfall which converges in a small pond. Surrounded by the dense forest, gushing water enchants loudly in-between the hills.

Note: Tiger fall is also known as Keraao Pachad and Kailu Pachad in local languages



Kanasar
A small village Koti Kanasar is situated at this location with few houses and 28 km away from our guest house.
Kanasar is well known for very old Deodar trees in its forest. A 6.35 mtrs circumference Deodar tree is known to be Asia's oldest and biggest Deodar tree.

Lakhamandal
Lakhamandal is situated 62 km from our guest house is an ancient Hindu temple complex, situated in the Jaunsar-Bawar region of Dehradun district in the state of Uttarakhand. The temple is dedicated to lord Shiva. This temple is popular among the Shakti Cult, who believe that a visit to this temple shrine will end their misfortunes.



Deoban
Deoban is 18 km from our guest house and is a picturesque spot near Chakrata town. As the Deoban (Devban) name suggests 'God's own Forest', it has a true peaceful environment giving inner calmness.

Visitors can witness scenic hilly terrains from Deoban as it is located at a height of 2200 meters to 3025 meters above the sea level.



Ram Tal Horticulture Garden
Ram Tal Horticulture Garden is small scenic horticulture garden near a pond. One of the best picnic spot in Chakrata, Ram Tal is located at 12 kms in Mussoorie road from main Chakrata town. Garden has several trees of Apple, Pulam & Rhododendron (Burans) trees.



Budher Caves
Budher is a place famous for its historic caves, Budher Caves. These caves are also well known by the name of Miola Caves as a German national, Miola discovered the caves. Budher caves are still unexplored due to unknown, difficult track.

Legends believe that Budher caves were built by Pandavas of Mahabharat epic to escape when their castle was set on fire and it is beleived to be more than 150 kms in length during that time



Kalsi.
Kalsi is a small town located in between Chakrata and Dehradun near Dakpatthar on the banks of Yamuna river. Kalsi town is known for its heritage importance. Famous Mauryan Emperor, Ashoka's inscriptions as rock edicts is present in Kalsi. It's importance rises as it is the only Ashoka's Rock edict located in North India. The language used in these edicts is Pali
